Asma Exports is one of the leading garment manufacturers in the Indian Textile industry situated in Chennai. The company exports its products to major countries of the world including UK, USA, Canada, Japan and European Countries. Asma Exports was established in 1970 by Mr.Sheik Mohammed Yamin who has decades of experience and a well-known expertise in the Textile Industry. It started with 50 Machines and gradually the company managed to increase the number of machines to be 200. The quality of the work and the promptness in the product delivery gave the company the confidence to export on its own. By the year 1989 having French Connection as the prime customer Asma Exports entered directly in to the export market.

During the year 1995 Asma Exports setup its new factory at Chrompet in Chennai. With an area of 30,000 Sq ft and about 200 Machines installed, the factory can produce 30,000pcs per month. The Garments Produced are Ladies Blouses, Dresses, Skirts, Shorts, Trousers, Mens Shirts, Children’s Wears and Outer Wear. Fabric handled are any type of Power loom, Mill made and Synthetic Fabrics.

Fabric Checking

Fabric being the backbone of the garment industry its professionals give special attention in the process by checking each and every yard of the fabric. Only after the approval from its professionals the fabric goes for cutting.

Machines

The factory is equipped with 200 Brother Machines(single, double needle) for tailoring and other supporting machines such as Feed-of-the-arm, Kansai Placket Machines, Button and Button hole, Over lock, Snap, Bar tack, Zigzag, Blind Stitching, Flat lock etc.

To compete with the current competitive market it has installed two boilers which caters twelve steam pressing tables to effectively achieve the final finishing of the product. Along with this it also has mini portable boilers installed in between the lines to achieve better finishing to the parts.

The Quality control management gained a part of the company’s major success. The company has acquired the latest European method of Quality Checking on an inclined table which gives good result. Right from the beginning, the company had concentrated on total quality management and commitment to production schedules.

Quality management at Asma Exports begins with the selection of the fabric itself. The fabric is selected only if it meets the requirements of the customer. All these are made after the series of discussion had with the customer’s merchandisers and the designers.
